Foodfuture Bridport is a sustainable food advocacy campaign emerging from work carried out by the food strand of Communities Living Sustainably (CLS) in Dorset.
CLS delivered 3 years of development work to bring local food stakeholders in Bridport together and continues to support Foodfuture to produce this website, a local food map and directory and a regular e-news.
We encourage community engagement, business networking and strategic thinking in support of celebrating and strengthening our local food system.
A vision for local food in Bridport
Over the years we have gathered the People’s Wishlist for the Future of Food in Bridport in conversation with hundreds of residents.
Our latest project How Can Bridport Feed Itself? is gathering the wishes of producers, chefs, hospitality providers, food retail businesses together with community food champions, representatives of the town council and neighbourhood planners.
“We want a joined up local food economy that produces more fruit & vegetables; supports local livelihoods and increases community well-being; promotes greater access to healthy, seasonal food for everyone; encourages and supports new farmers and food enterprises; and in ways that protect and regenerate the natural environment.”
We keep growing this network to make these wishes come true and invite you to join us in meeting and celebrating all the diverse people involved with food locally: producing, retailing, cooking, teaching and campaigning about it!
We are members of the Sustainable Food Cities Network.
